Cylindrical Roller Bearing – ‘NJ’ CONFIGURATION Cylindrical Roller Bearings utilize a modified cylindrical roller that provides line contact with the inner and outer ring raceways. They are suitable for high speeds and have a high radial load capacity. The rollers are guided by ribs on either the inner or outer rings. Depending upon the configuration, the bearings may or may not be able to accept any axial loading. The inner and outer rings are separable which may aid in assembly/disassembly of components. The ‘NJ’ Type bearings has shoulders on both sides of the outer ring and one shoulder on the inner ring. This allows the bearing to accept light axial loads in one direction. Some sizes may be available in a high capacity design (EG) that has larger diameter rollers and a polyamine cage. Stamped steel or machined brass (MY) cages are generally used. These bearings are most commonly used in gearboxes, rolling mills, crushers and pulverizers.

Separable components simplify mounting, removal, and can be interchangable in configuration. Long life. Heavy radial load capacity. Not suitable for thrust loads. Accommodates axial expansion and contraction.
