description
- The PRV1-10 is a direct-acting, spool-type valve, the PRV12-10 is a pilot-operated, spool-type, and the PRV12-12 is a pilot-operated, sliding-spool, adjustable cartridge-type valve. These valves maintain a constant secondary (lower) pressure in hydraulic subsystems regardless of pressure variations in the primary system. In addition to the reducing function, they also provide a flow path from the reduced pressure port to the tank port. If pressure in the secondary circuit exceeds the desired pressure, the valve opens this flow path to relieve excess pressure to tank.

- Any sliding spool valve, if held for long periods of time, may stick and not spring return due to fluid residue formation and therefore should be cycled periodically to prevent this from happening
